During the American Idol auditions in Atlanta, as seen during night-two of the hit FOX reality show this week, General Larry Platt sang an original song “Pants on the Ground”.

The 62-year-old was a hit with the judges but was ineligible to continue on as a contestant because the age limit is 28. That didn’t stop his little ditty from becoming a viral internet hit.

Capitalizing on the wave, Jimmy Fallon performed the song as Neil Young might have. View more photos and check out the original performance of “Pants on the Ground” and the late night talk show host’s version below.

R&B singer and songwriter Kelis seems to always have a little controversy surrounding her. This time she is taking on PETA — People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, after they attacked her.

What’s their beef (pun intended)? Check out the photo above and you will have your answer. The singer believes that PETA president Ingrid Newkirk is “nuts” after Kelis received a letter from PETA. Now she has decided to write an open-letter on her MySpace blog.

“There is no humane way to kill anything, let me start there. It’s unfortunate but it’s part of life. With that being said, I would eat pterodactyl if you found some and you told me it was meaty and delicious. And after doing a very minimal amount of research…I found that the founder Ingrid Newkirk is completely batty. I had a feeling, but she far exceeded my expectations. I mean certifiably insane.”

What wouldn’t Kelis wear? “If I started wearing endangered animals like polar bear or orangutan then talk to me. But the minks and chinchilla, quite honestly, are rodents and if they weren’t in the form of a coat, I would demand they be put to death anyway. They are not an issue to me.

We are apparently not the only ones who think Tila Tequila’s antic are anything but normal. The reality star suffered another blow this week when her publicist Jessica Cohen quit.

Jessica told TMZ, “Some matters need to remain private and away from media attention…I realized we need to part ways while she deals with the loss of her fiancee.” Cohen cited “recent events” as her reason for quitting. Another good excuse might have been — ‘the mounting evidence that Tila is crazy.’

On January 5, 2010, Tila’s fiancee Casey Johnson, heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune, was found dead in the guest house of a residence where she was staying. You can listen to the 911 call here.
