The March 30th performance of the night on American Idol was turned in by contestant Lee DeWyze who sang “Treat Her Like A Lady”. Usher mentored the remaining ten AI hopefuls on the FOX reality show during R&B Soul night.
Others who got positive praise from the judges were Andrew Garcia for his rendition of “Forever”, Crystal Bowersox for “Midnight Train to Georgia”, Casey James for “Hold On, I’m Coming”, and Michael Lynche for his take on “Ready for Love”.
Losing valuable ground last night was Siobhan Magnus who didn’t impress the judges with “Through the Fire”. But the contestant most likely to go home tonight is Didi Benami who struggled with “What Becomes of the Brokenhearted”.
Our own Danni Starr sat down with FOX 9 Buzz in the Twin Cities this morning to dissect last night’s performances. We’ll post that video footage when it is available.
Season 10 of the hit ABC reality show Dancing With the Stars saw the elimination of the first celebrity contestant on Wednesday night’s show. After combining scores from last week and last night’s performances, and adding viewer votes, Shannen Doherty and Mark Ballas got the boot.
How very convenient. It turns out Ballas seriously injured his leg on Monday and will be laid up for the next 6 weeks. In a shocking turn of events, the other couple in the bottom two were Pamela Anderson and her partner Damian Whitewood, who have been near the top of the leaderboard for two weeks running.
Kate Gosselin got a reprieve and will get another week in which to further hone her lackluster dance skills. She has yet to impress the judges or her extremely patient pro partner Tony Dovolani.
Madonna has teamed up with Macy’s for a new fashion line called “Material Girl”, a fast-action junior collection that will launch in August 2010. The singing icon gives most of the credit to her teen daughter Lourdes Leon, who she calls her muse.
The collection consists of edgy apparel featuring studs, layers and lace, footwear, fingerless gloves, handbags and jewelry. The launch date is just in time for back to school.
Madge said, “I’ve used fashion to make statements all of my life and now I have a 13-year-old daughter who is obsessed with fashion. I trust her because she has great style. We rarely disagree when it comes to clothing. That is why most of my closet is being raided on a regular basis.”
There seems to be a new story everyday involving Lindsay Lohan. Over the past couple of years her name has become synonym with drama. The people closest to her fear for her life and are on a mission to get her into rehab. We have also learned recently that the police have already contemplated a 5150 psychiatric hold. It is clear that her lifestyle has gotten out of control.
Michael Lohan staged a news conference today to call attention to the fact that his daughter needs immediate rehab to treat an alleged addiction to prescription medication. He wants her to check into a facility on Long Island, far away from the bad influences of Hollywood.
True to form, mother Dina Lohan was quick to dismiss his claims and reports that Lindsay is “fine.” When that fact was reported to Michael, he turned the news conference into a venting session against his ex-wife and the subject of his daughter was totally lost in all of the noise.
One would think that the deaths of Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson, Brittany Murphy and Cory Haim would scare the actress straight, but it looks like LiLo could very well be an accident waiting to happen. Though no one wishes harm to the starlet, numerous media outlets have admitted to being prepared for her death with obituaries prepared and ready to launch in the event of her demise.
When Britney Spears went through her infamous breakdown, it took her father being granted a conservatorship to help her and she is definitely on the mend. Maybe that’s what Lohan needs! Sadly, it appears her parents aren’t even on the same page where their daughter is concerned.
