Actress Angelina Jolie is no stranger to adoption or the process that goes along with it. Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt are the parents of three adopted children: Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, and Zahara, 5, in addition to three biological children. The star is concerned about the current state of adoption in Haiti and offered up a warning to families looking to bring these abandoned children into their homes.

Angelina traveled to Haiti earlier this month to visit some of the injured children as part of her role as United Nations Goodwill Ambassador. Weighing in on the adoption of homeless children from Haiti – she said, “An emergency is not the time for new adoptions in any way. Child trafficking has been a huge problem for a very long time. Everybody that means well needs to really take that very seriously.”

Many of deceased actress Brittany Murphy’s fans have been wondering what will become of her final movie “Abandoned”, in light of her sudden death on December 20, 2009. We can now report that Anchor Bay Entertainment has purchased the rights to the film and plans to release it this summer.

“Abandoned” also features actor Dean Cain and actress Mimi Rogers. Producers Jeffery Schenck and Barry Barnholt made a joint statement: “Brittany will be deeply missed by everyone that worked on “Abandoned”. The film is a taut thriller which portrays Brittany’s character as smart and tough — and that’s how we will always remember her.”

Bill Clark, president of Anchor Bay Entertainment said that the release of the movie will be an “honor and bittersweet.”

Award winning film director, comedian and author Kevin Smith has picked up a new label thanks to Southwest Airlines – ‘too fat to fly’.

Smith boarded a flight in Oakland on Saturday that was bound for Burbank. All was going according to plan until he was deemed too obese to make the journey. The airlines went so far as to call him a risk to the safety of others before they ejected him from the plane. A flight attendant named Suzanne approached him and relayed a message from the cockpit. According to Smith, “She told me Captain Leysath deemed me a ’safety risk.’”

Before he exited the plane, Smith puffed out his cheeks in an exaggerated pose and captured a photo for posterity and for use as a future ‘twitpic’.

Southwest eventually had a change of heart and booked him on a later flight and gave him a $100 airline voucher but the damage was done. The disgruntled passenger did what anyone would do under the circumstances — he took his case to his Twitter page, where the four-letter words were flying fast and furious.

John Mayer was an open book last week and what he had to say offended many people. There were racist remarks, talk about ex-girlfriends and his desire to work in the adult film industry. His week ended with him breaking down in tears at one of his performances while attempting to apologize to his fans.

In a recent interview with Playboy magazine, John stated that his “dream job” would be to write adult films. It looks like all he had to do was mention it in public and a job offer arrived on his doorstep. Vivid Entertainment immediately drafted a letter of interest in his proposal and sent it over to Mayer for his consideration. They are the largest video producer in the adult film industry.

Mayer is extremely well known and a company like VE would likely benefit by putting a celebrity name behind their films. You never know with Mayer – he has already proven himself to be an impulsive risk taker.

Heidi Montag and her husband Spencer Pratt were tapped to host a pre-Valentine’s Day party at Pure Nightclub in Vegas on Saturday night. Montag posed in a red dress that resembled an elongated Valentine heart, showcasing her new and improved chest.

She chatted about the ten procedures that she had done in a marathon session in November. Heidi said, “My favorite part? I think one of them is my chin. I think that’s what I was so excited about. And I love my boobs but I still want to improve. I didn’t get them as big as I originally wanted.”
