Phillips, 42, checked herself into an undisclosed treatment facility over the weekend, according to her publicist, Lizzie Grubman.
Phillips’ half-sister, Mackenzie Phillips, came forward last fall with claims of an incestuous relationship with their father, John Phillips of the group The Mamas and The Papas.
Although the revelation was difficult for Chynna, she reportedly checked into rehab for a number of reasons, and is trying to deal with stresses in her life. According to sources, it is not drug or alcohol related.
Chynna’s husband, Gossip Girl star Billy Baldwin, is trying to cope with Chynna’s treatment as best he can. “I don’t feel like dealing with the press when I’ve got my wife in rehab and I’ve got three little kids.”
Nicole Richie and her long time boyfriend Joel Madden have announced that they are getting married. The couple have kept the news quiet until the actress announced it Monday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and on Late Show with David Letterman.
Madden ‘tweeted’: Yep, i’m engaged. Very happy. yeah we’ve been engaged for a while so your all kind of late on that. but thanks for the hooplah all the same. P.s. that’s why i love my family and friends. None of them are sources. All good tight lipped people who let us enjoy it! Thanks everybody.”
Her father Lionel Richie said, “My happiness for Nicole and Joel knows no boundaries. They have given me two beautiful grandchildren, Harlow and Sparrow, and have proven to be great parents. I am not sure who is luckier, Nicole and Joel to have each other, or me, to have both of them in my life. I cannot wait to give away the bride!”
Joel, 30, and Nicole, 28, recently were involved in the star-studded remake of an original Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie song that raised $63 million in 1985. Check out We Are The World 25 for Haiti here.
Goldie Hawn is an actress whose career has spanned more than four decades but you’d be hard pressed to guess that the blonde beauty is actually 64-years-old. We’ve pulled together a Goldie photo gallery to showcase the fact that she still looks like she did in her youth.
Most Hollywood celebrities begin to show marked changes to their face and hair style as their careers evolve but that cannot be said for Hawn, who has basically looked the same since the early 1970’s when she first appeared in “Cactus Flower” in 1969, a role that earned her an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. She also starred in the hit television comedy series “Laugh In“, where she appeared as the ‘Sock It to Me!‘ girl.
The fact that Goldie hasn’t changed much over time would suggest that she has been diligent in maintaining her look with the help of any number of cosmetic procedures: neck tightening, laser resurfacing to combat sun damage, face lifts to reduce the bags under the eyes, and fillers to keep the wrinkles at bay. Kudos go out to whoever has been assisting the actress in maintaining the status quo because the differences between her early photos and her current red carpet pictures are subtle.
Her film projects have slowed up considerably but she recently co-wrote a comedy feature film with Jeremy Pikser. She will make her directorial debut and star in “Ashes to Ashes” with her long time partner Kurt Russell.
“Mad Men” star Christina Hendricks graces the cover of New York magazine’s Spring Fashion issue, available on newsstands beginning February 15, 2010. As seen above, the vivacious and voluptuous actress is wearing a very revealing low cut corset.
The 34-year-old appears to be sending out mixed messages by dressing provocatively and in the next breath admitting that her feeling were hurt last month after she received a great deal of “body scrutiny” over her Golden Globes red carpet appearance.
She said, “It kind of hurt my feelings at first. Anytime someone talks about your figure constantly, you get nervous, you get really self-conscious. I am working my butt off on the show, and then all anyone was talking about was my body!”
Dare we suggest that the newest issue of New York magazine may well generate another round of “body scrutiny”. Surely Christina can understand cause and effect. We’re just saying…
Lindsey Jacobellis is a two-time world champion and two-time World Cup champion, but her hopes for gold were dashed at the 2006 Torino Games, when she attempted a impromptu last minute trick that resulted in a fall. The split-second decision, executed when she had a seemingly insurmountable three-second lead over Tanja Frieden of Switzerland, left her with a silver medal.
Her critics accused her of showboating when she executed the ‘method grab’, which is grabbing the board behind the front foot’s binding on the heel edge and turning the board 90 degrees while arching the back. The 21-year-old claimed she made the grab to maintain stability but later admitted that it was not necessary – see video below.
Jacobellis is one of the most decorated and successful women’s snowboarders currently active in the world today. She has been featured in several high profile ad campaigns, including a Visa commercial.
Women’s Snowboard Cross qualifying begins at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. The Vancouver Games medal round is slated to start at 12:15 p.m.
We are also keeping an eye on two U.S. Olympic hopefuls who recently posed in bikinis for Sports Illustrated. Hannah Teter will compete on Wednesday in Snowboard Halfpipe.
